About

Indian Ranch has been hosting live outdoor entertainment since 1946, making it one of the oldest concert venues in the country. It is an outdoor amphitheater situated on the shores of a beautiful lake with a record long name… Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg!

Our venue is the most intimate live concert venue in New England. The Summer Concert Series at Indian Ranch offers concertgoers the opportunity to see their favorite artists in an intimate setting. Nestled between the scent of pine trees, every seat comes with a premier view of the beautiful Webster Lake.

Attending a concert at Indian Ranch is the perfect way to spend a summer day. Come early, enjoy the beach and listen to an artist on our Corral Stage.

More Than Seventy-Five Years of Music Tradition

Indian Ranch has been New England’s premier country music destination for decades. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, George Jones…the giants of Country Music are all part of the Indian Ranch tradition. Indian Ranch has also been the launching pad for emerging country artists working their way to stardom. Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton…all names that paved the path for the future of Country Music from Indian Ranch.

In the past Indian Ranch was known for being the Nashville of the North, but over the years our fans have asked us to branch into other types of music bringing the Indian Ranch experience to a new audience of music fans. In recent years, our lineup has expanded to feature classic rock, pop, roots rock, blues and acoustic music and artists such as Barenaked Ladies, Huey Lewis & The News, ZZ Top, Peter Frampton, Gavin DeGraw, 38 Special, BB King, The Mavericks, Pat Benatar, The Beach Boys and many more.

More than a Concert Venue

Most recently, Indian Ranch opened Samuel Slater’s Restaurant, the new onsite restaurant offering a lakeside dining experience.

The Indian Princess, one of the few authentic paddlewheel riverboats still in operation in the United States today, is docked at Indian Ranch. Offering scenic views of Webster Lake, the Indian Princess runs public and private tours from May – October.

Indian Ranch hosts a variety of private events, including weddings, holiday parties, corporate functions, class reunions, and more. Check out the Private Events portion of our website to learn more about the spaces we have available.

Indian Ranch is home to the Indian Ranch Campground. Made up of 200 sites, our campground includes full hook-ups, 50-amp service, free Wi-Fi and more. Camp for the weekend, month or entire season!

As far back as 1000 A.D. Native American tribes used the land Indian Ranch sits on for camping and fishing. In 1713, the British settled and shared fishing rights with the Indians on the lake they called Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. The name is one of the longest in the world and carries the folklore translation of “You fish on your side, I fish on my side, nobody fishes in the middle!”

In 1946, a local Native American promoter created a humble resort called Indian Ranch. He booked live entertainment which initially consisted of vaudeville acts, plays and hillbilly music. The stage was taken from a showboat and patrons sat on wooden logs. In the 1950s and 60s, entertainment included well-known TV personalities such as Rex Trailer and Bozo the Clown. Then in the 1970s, it started to focus on nationally known country music artists, later expanding its current repertoire of country, classic rock, pop, roots rock, blues, and acoustic music.

Over time the property was developed into a campground for RVs, a function hall was added for banquets and weddings, the Indian Princess for boat cruises, and most recently the Samuel Slater’s Restaurant, which opened its doors in summer 2018.
