He was the winner of The Catch a New Rising Star, The Funniest Comic in New England and the 2017 Big Sky Comedy Festivals. Rodrigues has been featured on the hilarious Gotham Live, Laughs on Fox and True Tv’s Laff Mobbs Laff Tracks. In 2018 he released his Dry Bar comedy special, was voted “best of the fest” at the Big Pine Comedy Festival and was picked as one of TBS’s Comics to Watch at the New York Comedy Fest. In 2019 Rodrigues made his late-night TV debut on the Conan O’Brien show. In 2020 he released another 30-minute Comedy Special for the EPIX series “Unprotected Sets.” His comedy is honest and fun, constantly peppering in stories from his life and the lives of those around him. Mix that with a hilarious point of view and he’s able to talk about just about anything.   Boston’s James Dorsey is an insurance salesman by day and comedian by night! After receiving his first D-minus for conduct in the second grade, Dorsey said he realized school was not his cup of tea and took his “disruptive in class” trademark to the stand-up stage and never looked back. He shares life experiences through high energy, witty acting-out, and playful facial expressions. His use of imitations and characters is incredibly vivid and entertaining. Dorsey was the national winner of the Catch a New Rising Star competition, as well as the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and has performed at the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival. His performance on stage has been described as “Flawless, smooth and original. A born professional.” He has shared the stage with Joe Rogan, Bryan Callen, Jerry Seinfeld, Patrice O’Neal, Jim Gaffigan, Michael Ian Black, Gilbert Gottfried, and Steven Wright. Dorsey can be seen in every major comedy club in New England and will remain in your head and heart long after he has made his exit from the stage.   Alex Giampapa began performing stand-up comedy in Boston at the age of 19 and soon became a popular act all across New England. He’s performed with comedians like Bill Burr, Hannibal Buress, Ilana Glaser, Sarah Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Gary Gulman, Adam Devine and Erik Griffin. Alex headlines shows nationwide, and has been featured in many comedy festivals including The Rogue Island Comedy Festival (Newport, RI), The Big Pine Comedy Festival (Flagstaff, AZ), The Boston Comedy Festival, and The Motor City Comedy Festival (Detroit, MI).

Comedy Night at Slater’s with Steve Sweeney & Guests

Comedy Night at Slater’s featuring Steve Sweeney with special guest Howie Mason and host Jack Burke   Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Friday, March 13, 2026 │ Doors 6:30 PM / Show 7:30 PM   21+ Event / Valid ID Required │ This event is non-refundable   Dubbed by one admirer as “the undisputed King of Boston comedy,” Steve Sweeney doesn’t just perform in Boston—he is Boston. A true original of the Boston stand-up explosion, Sweeney came up alongside Lenny Clarke and Jay Leno at the legendary Ding Ho in the early 1970s—ground zero for a comedy movement that would shape the city’s voice for decades. He was among the first Boston comics to break into television with a starring role on Park Street Under, and went on to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Show with David Letterman. In Boston, he became a household voice as a beloved morning radio host on WZLX 100.7 FM. Over a thirty-year career of stand-up tours, sitcom roles, film appearances, and radio, Sweeney’s comedy has traveled far. But no matter where he goes, it remains so thoroughly, unmistakably Bostonian that he almost deserves his own stop on the map.   Most of the “weird” things that happen to Howie Mason happen within the family unit. Those weird things and the family offer up a “nice mix of material” for his audience. Howie has brought his clever brand of humor to clubs and casinos all over the Northeast. Howie’s distinctive views on everyday topics such as marriage, parenthood and childhood have made him a crowd favorite all over New England.   A Boston-based comic, Jack Burke has rapidly emerged as a fresh voice of New England’s storied comedy circuit. He charms comics and audience members alike with his confessional style and irreverent takes on sobriety, intimacy, and family life. He is a staple of independently produced shows and clubs like the world renowned Laugh Boston and Nicks. Jack’s made terrible mistakes everywhere from Portland, ME to Jamaica that will make you laugh and feel grateful you’re not related to him.

Jeff Koen is a Boston-area comedian and actor best known for starring in the indie road-trip comedy Heavy Times. Aquanett

Aquanett Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Saturday, September 28, 2024 │ Doors 7:30 PM / Show 8:00 PM   21+ Event / Valid ID Required While the Aquanett experience is anchored by the sound of the 80s metal bands like Bon Jovi and Whitesnake, don’t expect a run-of-the-mill club band that just sits in the corner. Quite the opposite- this is one of the most decadent and colorful tribute acts today. Imagine Hollywood…the Sunset Strip…when bands like Motley Crue and GnF ruled the world, This is the scene Aquanett re-creates night after night. With a complement of lights, special effects and costumes, the full production of an 80s rock concert is brought to life on stage. It is wild, flashy and full of the decadence that marked the 80s rock. It’s the sound, the clothes, and of course, the hair…but most of all, it’s pure fun. Seeing is believing, but you know that Aquanett is truly an experience, unlike anything you have seen before…or at least since 1991!
