Comedy Night at Slater’s featuring Jimmy Dunn and Ken Rogerson, hosted by PJ Thibodeau Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Friday, April 25, 2025 │ Doors 6:30 PM / Show 7:30 PM 21+ Event / Valid ID Required Jimmy Dunn got his start in “show business” telling jokes in a bar in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he was paid in beer and fried clams. Since then, he’s gone on to perform at some of the world’s most prestigious comedy events, including the Late Show with David Letterman, CONAN, Montreal’s International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and Denis Leary’s Comic’s Come Home in Boston. Jimmy’s first major television role was as Sean McCarthy on the CBS sitcom, The McCarthys. He’s also written on several television projects, including two episodes of Loudermilk that he co-wrote with Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly. Ken Rogerson, “The funniest man you’ve never heard of,” started his comedy career working the Chicago club circuit and at the famed Second City. After touring with the improvisational troupe The Comedy Rangers, Ken moved East and became a central part of the historic ‘80’s Boston comedy scene of the as documented in the film When Stand Up Stood Out. There, he honed his standup act to a fine edge “…sharp enough to cut the head off a rabbit at thirty yards.” Still rocking it, Ken is now all over the internet, where you’ll find clips from his Dry Bar special, Way North of 40 which total over a million views, and he can also be heard on Sirius XM, Pandora, and Spotify as part of The Best of Boston Vol II alongside some of Boston’s best. Ken has also made numerous other television appearances on such shows as NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien,The Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central’s Comics Come Home, and Showtime’s A Pair of Jokes to name a few. PJ Thibodeau has performed at some of the best comedy venues in the country including The Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino, Foxwood’s Resort and Casino, Caroline’s Comedy Club in NYC, The Comedy Connections in Boston, Providence and Portland, The Comic Strip in NYC, The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, and many more. A Rhode Island Comedy Festival Male Stand Up Comedian winner, Thibodeau has received praised from many corners including The Boston Globe which wrote, “PJ wins the crowd over quickly and easily.” With a mix of styles and a variety of topics, Thibodeau is full of emotion as the audience is given an entertaining look at life from a simple man’s point of view. After opening for some of the biggest names in comedy such as Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle, Jim Breuer, Dom Irrera, Brian Regan and Jay Mohr, Thibodeau, himself, has become a headliner.
