Comedy Night at Slater’s featuring Christine Hurley plus special guests Gary James and Ryan Gartley   Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Friday, October 18, 2024 │ Doors 6:30 PM / Show 7:30 PM   21+ Event / Valid ID Required   Christine Hurley loves what she does…making people laugh! Married to Jimmy Hurley and having five kids, Christine is never at a loss for comedic material. Like any great comedian, Christine has an innate ability to see humor in “everyday” situations. For years, she entertained family, friends and neighbors in their kitchens, at barbeques and the grocery store aisles. The only difference now is she uses a microphone and a stage.   Christine’s maiden voyage into the world of stand up comedy was an open audition in New York City. The television network Nick at Nite was looking for “AMERICA’S FUNNIEST MOM.” She figured if it didn’t go well, no one in New York would have known who she was anyway…   Turns out it went well! Out of thousands of entries, Christine was selected to be a finalist on the nationally televised show. The producers of the show included Carol Leifer (Seinfeld show producer), Jeff Singer (talent scout, Montreal Comedy Festival), Jeffrey Ross (Comedy Central roast master) and actress Sandra Bernhardt.   Gary James is on the horizon of a new comedy frontier. Named 2016 Best Comedian by Boston Magazine, this absurd realist takes his curiosity and applies it to the wide world of weird. Accomplishments: The Great American Comedy Festival, Best Comedian by Boston Magazine, 2016 Riot LA’s comics to watch. Petersen is blazing a trail of tomfoolery and now is the time to watch a hero rise from the ashes of comedy ruins.    With nearly 500 shows of experience, Ryan Gartley has performed everywhere from Las Vegas to Bangor. He was featured on the internationally syndicated Steve Katsos Show and was a semi-finalist in the Portland and Boston Comedy Festivals. His critical observations and dry humor have earned him opening spots for national headliners Lenny Clarke, Jeff Dunham, Steven Wright, and Dave Coulier.

Comedy Night with Jimmy Dunn & Guests

Comedy Night at Slater’s featuring Jimmy Dunn with special guest Carolyn Plummer and hosted by Ryan Ellington   Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Friday, November 22, 2024 │ Doors 6:30 PM / Show 7:30 PM   21+ Event / Valid ID Required   Jimmy Dunn is a stand-up comedian and actor from Boston, who currently plays “Moose” on the Paramount+ reboot of the iconic sitcom FRASIER. He got his start in “show business” telling jokes in a bar in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he was paid in beer and fried clams. Since then, he’s gone on to perform at some of the world’s most prestigious comedy events, including the Late Show with David Letterman, CONAN, Montreal’s International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and Denis Leary’s Comic’s Come Home in Boston. Jimmy’s first major television role was as Sean McCarthy on the CBS sitcom, THE MCCARTHYS. He’s also written on several television projects, including two episodes of LOUDERMILK that he co-wrote with Academy Award winner Peter Farrelly.   Carolyn Plummer has been doing comedy professionally for over 20 years. She has traveled extensively and to many parts of this country few have dared to venture. Carolyn has worked at clubs, colleges, dead animal lodges, theatres and corporations, appearing with many of the top headliners in the business. She has participated in numerous festivals including the Burbank Comedy Festival; where she was named Best of the Fest, Boston Comedy Festival and The Women in Comedy Festival. Carolyn performed at Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home 26 at the TD Garden for the Cam Neely Foundation. She is a versatile comic who is at home telling jokes in front of nuns or biker dudes.   Ryan Ellington, a Massachusetts native, has been performing in Boston for over 5 years now. He regularly performs at Laugh Boston, Nick’s Comedy Stop and The Comedy Studio. Ryan was a finalist in Laugh Boston’s Funniest Person in Massachusetts contest in 2019 and has performed in the Good Luck and WOOtenanny Comedy Festivals.

Comedy Night at Slater’s with Kelly MacFarland & Guests

Comedy Night at Slater’s featuring Kelly MacFarland with special guest Carolyn Plummer and host Andrea Henry Samuel Slater’s Hall │ Friday, December 19, 2025 │ Doors 6:30 PM / Show 7:30 PM 21+ Event / Valid ID Required │ This event is non-refundable Kelly MacFarland is a magnetic stand-up comedian, writer, and actress with bold, hilarious, and unexpectedly heartfelt comedy. Her best-friend energy and relatable stories about love, loss, and everything in between make her a favorite for smart, fun audiences. Kelly has appeared on Comedy Central, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, the Today Show, AXS Gotham Comedy LIVE, Dry Bar Comedy, Don’t Tell Comedy, and Comics Come Home at TD Garden. Her special Wit Happens is streaming on Prime Video, and her albums can be heard on SiriusXM.   Some comics rely on the monumental events of the day or the faux pas of the rich and famous. Not Carolyn Plummer. Carolyn pulls material from the hum-drum, day-to-day monotony of the life of everyman; and she does it well. To Carolyn the monumental is easy… it’s our existence that’s so hard, yet so ridiculous. Some women look in the mirror and complain that they aren’t pretty enough, not rich enough, not young enough. Carolyn gives her reflection the finger. Andrea Henry has appeared on Nickelodeon’s Search for America’s Funniest Mom, Last Comic Standing and The Great Canadian Laugh Off, and has participated in comedy fests across the country Limestone, Maine, Boston, Women in Comedy, Chicago Woman’s Funny Festival, Rogue Island and Memphis Urban Laughs. She’s written jokes for Us Weekly Magazine’s Fashion Police and is the co-author of Real Kids Jokes by Real Stand-Up Comics.

In 2019 Rodrigues made his late-night TV debut on the Conan O’Brien show. In 2020 he released another 30-minute Comedy Special for the EPIX series “Unprotected Sets.” His comedy is honest and fun, constantly peppering in stories from his life and the lives of those around him. Mix that with a hilarious point of view and he’s able to talk about just about anything.   Boston’s James Dorsey is an insurance salesman by day and comedian by night! After receiving his first D-minus for conduct in the second grade, Dorsey said he realized school was not his cup of tea and took his “disruptive in class” trademark to the stand-up stage and never looked back. He shares life experiences through high energy, witty acting-out, and playful facial expressions. His use of imitations and characters is incredibly vivid and entertaining. Dorsey was the national winner of the Catch a New Rising Star competition, as well as the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and has performed at the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival. His performance on stage has been described as “Flawless, smooth and original. A born professional.” He has shared the stage with Joe Rogan, Bryan Callen, Jerry Seinfeld, Patrice O’Neal, Jim Gaffigan, Michael Ian Black, Gilbert Gottfried, and Steven Wright.
